Jennifer L. Armentrout is an American fantasy romance author whose Lux series, From Blood and Ash, and other series have made her one of the most commercially successful writers in the fantasy romance genre.

Jennifer L. Armentrout began publishing paranormal romance and YA fiction in 2011 and built a large following through the Lux series — about a girl who discovers her neighbor is an alien — and several other paranormal romance series. From Blood and Ash (2020), the first novel in the Blood and Ash series, represented a significant expansion of her readership when it began gaining traction through BookTok on TikTok in 2021-2022.

From Blood and Ash is a fantasy romance set in a secondary world with a heavily guarded heroine — Poppy, the Maiden, whose purpose and true nature are gradually revealed — and the requisite brooding male lead (Hawke) who is more complicated than he initially appears.
